2024 AirPods Roadmap Leaked

According to a recent Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to inject fresh vitality into its standard AirPods lineup with the launch of two distinct AirPods 4 models in the next year. One will cater to those seeking an entry-level experience, while the other will incorporate some Pro-grade features from the AirPods Pro, such as noise cancellation. Furthermore, the higher-end model is expected to feature an innovative charging case equipped with speakers for Find My alerts, reminiscent of the AirPods Pro.

Both models will sport a USB Type-C port and will draw design inspiration from the AirPods 3, merging elements from both the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro 2. You can anticipate a more comfortable fit, though the inclusion of silicon ear tips may not be part of the package.

It’s important to note that the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 will be phased out, making way for the new AirPods 4 models, with prices likely aligned with their predecessors. The goal here is to simplify the AirPods lineup, addressing the confusion that arose when consumers had to choose between the fairly similar AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 or opt for the higher-end AirPods Pro 2 with its active noise cancellation. These significant changes should make decision-making a breeze!

Apple might also surprise us with the release of the next-generation AirPods Pro Max, which has remained untouched since its initial launch in 2020. This prospect is undeniably exciting. As for the AirPods Pro, no new addition is anticipated in 2024, but 2025 could see the introduction of a new model featuring an upgraded chip, design, and additional health-related features.

Nevertheless, it’s essential to remember that these developments are projections, and we’ll have to await Apple’s official details. Meanwhile, there’s something to look forward to – the ‘Scary Fast‘ event is on the horizon, promising the launch of new MacBooks. Stay tuned for updates on that front, and if you have insights to share about the leaked AirPods roadmap, please join the conversation in the comments below!
